Mapleton Early Learning Center (PK)
"Building Foundations for Life"
The Mapleton Early Learning Center (MELC) provides preschool for students who are 4 years old in both half-day and full-day settings. The curriculum at MELC is well-rounded and focuses on academic, language, social-emotional, and motor skills. The preschool program is family centered; parents are encouraged to participate in their child's first educational experience.
Within a nurturing, stimulating, and challenging environment, MELC offers a play-based, hands-on approach to learning. Students are encouraged and supported as they experiment and explore with a variety of supplies and materials. Teachers embed learning into natural play situations chosen by children. MELC's high expectations for young children provide them with adequate skills to be successful in kindergarten. Family events and parent education opportunities are offered throughout the year.
